Home Soon · Effective August 9, 2026
What we collect
- Account email — used to sign you in and manage your household.
- Voice memos — the microphone records only while you hold the talk button. Memos upload to your household's private storage and play only on your own household's TV.
- Pet profiles — names and details you enter about your pets.
- Location (optional) — only if you turn on Homecoming. Your phone watches a geofence around your home on-device; crossing it sends a single "start the welcome scene" command. Off by default.
- Camera events (optional) — the web petcam analyzes camera frames on your device. If you turn on snapshots (off by default), small 320px snapshot images of detected events are saved.
How long we keep it
- Voice memos — deleted automatically 30 days after they were last played. Memos you mark as favorites are kept until you delete them.
- Petcam snapshots — deleted automatically after 7 days.
- When something is deleted, it is deleted — removed from our servers, not archived or kept "for analytics."
What never leaves your device
- Petcam video — camera frames are processed on your device and are never uploaded. Only the optional 320px snapshots described above ever leave it.
- Your location — geofence checks happen on your phone. We never store your coordinates or any location history on our servers.
Analytics
Crash reporting (Sentry) and product analytics (PostHog) run only when we have enabled them by configuration. When on, analytics is limited to a fixed whitelist of nine app events — never memo audio, camera data, or location — linked to your user id only. Crash reports are scrubbed of personal information.
There is no advertising, no session replay, no cross-app tracking, and no sale of your data. Ever.
Purchases
Subscriptions on the TV are handled by Roku Pay; on the phone by the app store through RevenueCat. Those processors handle payment — we only see your subscription status, never your card number.
Sharing
We do not share or sell your data to anyone. The services that run Home Soon on our behalf are Supabase (database, sign-in, and memo storage), Cloudflare (content delivery), and Vercel (web hosting). Depending on features you or we enable, these may also process data: Google Nest (if you connect a Nest camera), Resend (email), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Sentry (crash reports), and PostHog (analytics).
Your controls
- Delete any voice memo at any time.
- Household owners can mute or remove members. Membership is invite-only.
- Delete your account and everything goes with it — memos, pet profiles, snapshots, and household data are fully removed.
